HR Shared Services for the MAS Group was established in August 2022, bringing together a focus-specialized team that services six main functions in Human Resources.  The journey of establishing the HR Shared Services began in 2019 as part of an HR transformation initiative. This was executed in collaboration with the MAS Strategic Business Units. 

HR Shared Services provides centralized services across Talent Acquisition, Workforce Management (Employee Life Cycle Management), Payroll and Compensation, Benefits Administration, Learning and Development, and Reporting and Analytics across 59 Strategic Business Units, both locally and globally.

Talent Acquisition


The team of recruiters in the Talent Acquisition team handles the end-to-end recruitment for Strategic Business Units across the MAS Group. The process starts with the sourcing of candidates, which is achieved by advertising vacant roles across all communication channels, including social media. The team also coordinates with external vendors for candidate sourcing. The recruiters screen and shortlist potential candidates based on the profiles that have applied for the role. The Talent Acquisition team will also coordinate all interviews conducted with the Strategic Business Units and handle the clearance and verification of candidates. The process would close when recruiters offer and onboard the candidate to the business. Furthermore, the team supports the Center of Excellence of HR and MAS Business Units with Talent Analytics and Insights.  

Payroll and Compensation


The Payroll and Compensation team processes the monthly payroll, ad-hoc pay and ex-gratia processing for all Wages Board, and Shop and Office employees in the Strategic Business Units that we serve. The services provided also include bonus payments and maternity and paternity payments. In addition, the team handles ad-hoc salary reviews, annual performance-related pay processes, provision of payroll reports and support services for Compliance Audits.

Benefits Administration 


The team of analysts in Benefits Administration manages all benefits for Shop and Office employees. This includes all activation and deactivation, reconciliation, and payments for medical insurance, mobile and data connections (phone, SIM, dongles) and death donation schemes. The team also handles the enrollment of Service Awards, Professional Memberships and reimbursements. 

Learning and Development


Administration of all Learning and Development initiatives, pre and post-training feedback, and reports are managed by our analysts in the L&D team. Services that fall under the purview of the L&D team include managing the MAS Onboarding for all new recruits and creating the Competency Assessment and Individual Development Plan. The team also handles the execution of the annual L&D calendar for the Business Units we serve, and organizes employee training and succession development plans for individuals. Simultaneously, the analysts actively work on creating new course content for L&D initiatives and manage training, collate and maintain pre and post-training evaluations, and process vendor payments.

Reporting and Analytics


The Reporting and Analytics team is the central point for Strategic Business Units and internal HR teams to access HR metrics and service levels, enabling data-driven decision-making. The team shares a plethora of HR reports and dashboards with Business Units we cater to, across the MAS Group, utilizing various data visualization software and platforms such as PowerBi, PowerAlls, Power Automate and Macros.
